ATEX Starlink (Explosion Proof Z2/22)

$41.03 $50.06
DescriptionATEX Satellite Internet Kit Certified for Zone 2 & 22The Armadex Starlink Kit V4 delivers complete LEO satellite internet to hazardous areas. In particular, it suits FPSOs, LNG tankers, offshore platforms, gas facilities, and chemical plants. The kit covers two protection methods. For Zone 2 (Gas), it uses Ex nR per IEC 60079-15. For Zone 22 (Dust), it uses Ex tc per IEC 60079-31. As a result, you can permanently install the kit in areas where an explosive atmosphere stays unlikely or short-lived.Now available for pre-order. Final ATEX certification is in the closing stage – the signed Declaration of Conformity and certificate will be issued shortly. Get in touch for current lead times and to reserve a kit.Key Benefits:Phased-Array Dish | 110° Field of ViewTri-Band, 4×4 MU-MIMOUp to 235 Connected Devices | 297 m² CoverageIP67 Dish | Snow Melt up to 40 mm/hOperating Temperature: -30 °C to 50 °C2 × Latching Gigabit Ethernet PortsOptional 48 V DC Feed via Ex e Increased-Safety Enclosure15 m Latched Antenna Cable IncludedDistributed by Armadex Explosion Protection B.V.What’s in the KitThe kit ships as a complete, installation-ready package containing:Phased-array dish – 594 × 383 × 39.7 mm, 2.9 kg, IP67Kickstand – 184 × 142 × 27.4 mmStarlink Router 3 (Wi-Fi 6 access point) – 298.6 × 120.4 × 43.4 mm, 0.57 kg, IP56, indoor use, LED indicator, 2 latching RJ-45 ports, reset and power buttons, WPA2Power supply – 173 × 93 × 35.75 mm, 0.65 kg, IP66, 100–240 V AC, 50/60 HzAntenna cable – 15 m (49.2 ft), latched, shieldedTotal package – 652.4 × 451.7 × 97.9 mm, 6.73 kgPhased-Array Antenna with 110° Field of ViewThe dish uses an electronic phased array with a 110° field of view and software-assisted manual orienting, communicating with the Starlink LEO constellation in the Ku/Ka bands. It survives operational winds of 96 km/h or more (60 mph ) and includes an automatic snow-melt function rated up to 40 mm/h (1.5 in/h), keeping the antenna clear in offshore and onshore winter conditions.Wi-Fi 6 Connectivity for Hazardous-Area SitesThe included Starlink Router 3 access point delivers Wi-Fi 6 (Wireless AX, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax) over a tri-band radio with 4×4 MU-MIMO and WPA2 security.A single unit covers up to 297 m² (3 200 ft²) and supports up to 235 simultaneously connected devices, which is enough headroom for downstream Ex-rated access points, handhelds, inspection cameras and laptops on a typical platform deck or process area. The router is also compatible with Starlink Mesh for up to three nodes if you need to extend coverage further. Two latching Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet ports sit under a removable cover on the unit, providing wired uplinks to PLCs, downstream access points, or industrial CCTV. There is no USB port and no SIM slot.Built for Permanent Outdoor InstallationThe Starlink Kit V4 is purpose built to withstand varoius conditions:IP67 dish, IP56 router, IP66 power supply-30 °C to 50 °C operating range for dish and router-30 °C to 60 °C PSU operating rangeAverage power draw 75-100 W (peak ~150 W)Optional 48 V DC Supply via Ex e EnclosureAn optional installation moves the AC adapter out of the classified zone entirely. The dish is fed by 48 V DC and terminated at the antenna in an Ex e (IEC 60079-7) increased-safety enclosure. This eliminates the switching power supply from the classified zone and removes its arcing potential at switching frequencies — a useful option for sites with stricter zone discipline or longer cable runs from a safe-area cabinet.ATEX Protection Methods Used in This KitThe Starlink Kit V4 uses two protection concepts, one for gas atmospheres and one for dust:Ex nR (Restricted Breathing) – IEC 60079-15 for Zone 2 gas atmospheres. Restricted breathing limits the ingress of explosive gas into the enclosure to a level low enough that an internal ignition source cannot create an explosive mixture.Ex tc (Protection by Enclosure) – IEC 60079-31 for Zone 22 dust atmospheres. The enclosure prevents combustible dust from entering at concentrations that could form an explosive layer, and limits the surface temperature. Both protection methods are appropriate for areas where an explosive atmosphere is unlikely to occur in normal operation and, if it does, will only persist for a short period.
